This book is a compilation of papers from research institutes and the industry worldwide, to provide an overview on the use of acidifiers in animal nutrition & their beneficial effects on livestock and aquaculture. The editor and authors hope that it will encourage discussions on future research and further scientific development leading to more in-depth knowledge on the mode of action and benefits of acidifiers in animal nutrition.
The potential of organic acides in forage preservation as well as in livestock nutrition has been known for decades and is widely documented. Acidifiers make a fundamental contribution to feed hygeine, gut health and natural growth promotion in modern animal nutrition. Due to reduction in the use of antibiotic growth promoters in livestock production, acidifiers are becoming increasingly important as part of an alternative feeding concept.
This book provides an overview on the use of acidifiers in animal nutrition and their possible beneficial effects for liverstock production and aquaculture. It contains a compilation of papers from the research institutes and the industry worldwide related to the mode of action and potential benefits of acidifiers.
